About
our Organization
The Moondog Project was created to help veterans and first responders struggling with their mental health by getting them outside to have some fun and give them a break from day to day life. It was created to honor U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt David Mauney who was an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician with the 628th Engineer Squadron who loved being outdoors.
Who We Are
-
To honor the legacy of TSgt David Mauney by improving the mental, physical and emotional wellness of military members, veterans and first responders by promoting access to healing outdoor recreational experiences, fostering resilience, connection and renewed purpose.
-
We envision a world where every service member, veteran and first responder has the opportunity to heal, recharge and thrive through the restorative power of the outdoors– building a strong, supportive community that carries forward a legacy of service, courage and compassion.
