About
our Organization

The Moondog Project was created to honor the memory of USAF TSgt David Mauney  by carrying forward a mission rooted in connection, resilience, and care. Dedicated to strengthening the mental well-being of first responders, active duty service members, and veterans, we use the power of the outdoors to bring people together in meaningful ways. Through thoughtfully organized adventures and guided experiences, we create space to decompress, rebuild camaraderie, and proactively support mental health. Whether on the trail, in the water, or under open skies, Moondog fosters a sense of purpose and community—because no one who serves should have to carry the weight of that service alone.
